Whitening
Teeth whitening is a highly effective way of brightening the natural
color of stained or discolored teeth. Already at a very young age, only a
few people have brilliant white teeth, with time teeth get
discoloured. Discoloration of teeth can be caused by many, internal and external conditions:
- consumption of tea, coffe, red wine
- smoking
- medicines taken during growth of the teeth
- old fillings
- root-treatment
There are cases when teeth are discolored or yellow because of malformation of the enamel; there is an opportunity for them too to whiten their teeth.
In our dentistry you can choose from 3 different methods of whitening:
Withening with plasmalamp
During the process we apply a carbamide-peroxide-based gel to your teeth then illuminate it with plasmalamp for 3x10 minutes.
Sony-White ultrasonic whitening
We use a hydrogene-peroxid-based material what we introduce in the teeth with ultrasonic vibration. The treatment takes 5x8 minutes.
Whitening at home
The technitian prepares a special splint with the help of the print of the teeth previously taken. The whitening gel is put into this splint what the patient applies at home. For best results we recommend a 7-10 day cure (2-3 hours per use).
All the different whitening treatments give the patient a noticeably whiter teeth, eventually even up to three shades.
Note: The process won’t whiten fillings, crowns, bridges or dentures!
Suggestions after the treatment:
- don’t consume food and drinks can discolor your teeth (coffe, tea, coke, red wine, tomato) within the following 24-48 hours
- don’t smoke
The whitening treatment can result in tooth sensivity and/ or gum discomfort what will end in 1-2 days.
